Owner of BTS, Tammy Kovar wins prestigious Guy Hudson Award from Keep Sarasota County Beautiful Advisory Board

Tammy Kovar, owner of Biological Tree Services and Sustainable Landscape Supply, was awarded the prestigious “Guy Hudson Award” by the Keep Sarasota County Beautiful Advisory Board. Keep Sarasota County Beautiful, supported by the Sarasota County Commissioners, is a county-wide program with a mission to enhance and promote public interest and participation in the general improvement of the environment throughout Sarasota County.

Ms. Kovar received the award at the 2009 Awards Recognition Program held on May 12 at the Venice Community Center. Presented by Nora Patterson, Sarasota County Commissioner, the Guy Hudson Award, created in the memory of Mr. Guy Hudson, recognizes the outstanding individual who has exemplified exceptional dedication toward Keep Sarasota County Beautiful initiatives in the past year.

Tammy’s contributions to environmental protection and beautification are expansive and include her extensive involvement in education, conservation, preservation, and encouraging incorporation of pro-active biological based landscape methodologies in numerous community sectors. She serves on various community boards, regularly engages in community think-tanks, supports educational and research facility initiatives, and educates county officials as well as the general public in her energetic, hands-on participation throughout the Southeast Florida area.

Tammy founded Biological Tree Services which is a globally aware, leading specialty landscape maintenance service provider focused on the utilization of natural biological products and environmentally responsible integrated pest management practices. The innovative programs employed by BTS introduce living microbes into urban landscapes to drive the natural sustainable processes found in forest ecosystems throughout the world. And, BTS’s products comply with the local Sarasota County fertilizer ordinance and their recommendations to reduce chemical fertilizer use.
